The Works of the Right Honourable Lord Byron

The eight volume edition of Byron's works produced by John Murray between 1817 and 1820 in an unusual half calf over vellum binding with unusual square calf corners, soft blue end-papers and speckled edges which appears to be broadly contemporary with the books. The bindings are all sound though worn to the external hinges and rubbed to either end of the spine. An early ownership signature of 'W Edwards 58th Reg't' appears on most of the title pages. John Murray intended this edition to run to five volumes only but it ended up with supplementaries that took to eight volumes in total. A very handsome set.
