No 3/250 copies. Deluxe edition in full vellum gilt with thirteen black and white etched plates. Large folio format, vellum over boards, top edge gilt, handmade paper with untrimmed edges, signed by Brangwyn and Chesterton on the limitation page as copy number 3. Chesterton contributed a 51 page prefatory essay in which he termed Brangwyn 'one of the most masculine of modern men of genius' followed by the engravings (20.5x19.5cm) which were printed for Hodder by the Sun Engraving Company. The binding and book's contents are fine, very slight bowing to the front cover. Brangwyn was brought up in the Roman Catholic faith, his father having converted in the 1850s, but he did not attend church frequently. As he grew older he produced more religious work of which this is an impressive example.
