[3], vi, [1], 8-38 A chapbook redaction of Defoe's The true-born Englishman, in its original blue printed wrappers which contain interesting advertising material from the publisher. The text which also contains John Tutchin's The foreigners, Britannia (pp29-33) and The magistrate's speech (pp 34-37) is loosely stab sewn with some fingermarking to the first few leaves. The upper wrapper has a list of three dozen other titles on the verso complete with prices; the lower wrapper has a more extensive advert set in a woodcut for Death, the Grave and Gray's Elegy on the recto. There are other woodcuts scattered through the text.
