[16] pp 700 Daniel Stahl's compendium of Aristotelian philosophy attractively bound in contemporary calf with double blind fillet to the boards and horizontal double blind lines to the spine. Bound in at either end of the book as additional endpapers are decorative leaves of printer's waster from a volume of the Institutes of Justinian, printed in black and red with small historiated capitals. An early owner's mark: 'p:z' appears on the paste-board inside the lower cover. Small split at the tail of the outer joint with the upper cover. A very good unsophisticated copy of one of the Aristotelian summaries which influenced both the young Newton at Cambridge and his contemporary Leibniz whose annotated copy of Stahl survives.
