Hunt was both a novelist and translator, a friend of Oscar Wilde in 1880s London and highly admired for this translation of Grimm’s tales. The brothers Grimm first published their fairy tales in 1812 - such is their success that Rapunzel and Cinderella are among the best known of all literary characters.
