An uncommon memoir of the Quaker George Dillwyn which is distinguished by the presence of two albumen photographs. This is Gernsheim 81, illustrated by two photographic illustrations taken by Richard Dykes Alexander of Ipswich and then tipped into the book. They show the 'Residences' of George Dillwyn' and 'The Friends Meeting House at Burlington' as depicted in drawings by the artist, J Collins. The book is in its original binding which has been reinforced by a strip of tape down the spine. The pebbled cloth covered boards are worn, especially to the corners. Internally the book is complete and the text complete with marbled endpapers and a bookplate relating to the 'Library of the Representative Meeting'. Several pages have pulled away from the glued binding early on in the book.
