History of Charter-House bound in parchment over boards, all edges red, attractively annotated to the final couple of pages in a contemporary hand.

Parchment binding mildly discoloured, some browning to preliminaries. Both frontispiece portrait and two further engravings are present. The Preface has been paginated in an early hand and has annotation in pencilled shorthand-type jottings with further pencilled shorthand annotation scattered throughout. Written on the final leaf, recto and verso, early prayers ‘Pierce my heart, O Lord wth such a fear of thy Judgments...’ etc. Collates [48] pp288.
