Scarce seventeenth century Oxford student edition of Boethius' influential study of free will written while in prison awaiting execution. Tiny 16mo format (9.5x7cm) bound in recent full sheep binding with blind panels to the boards and gilt lettering to the spine. New acid-free endpapers, the text is collated and complete with staining and loss along the foreedge of the title page (not affecting text or border) and browning and slight loss to the head and tail of the final leaf with an early manuscript note below the printed text, perhaps marking a reader's completion of the text. ESTC locates 6 British and 6 American institutional copies of the work.
