An official manuscript record, taken street by street, of the number of houses in the London district of Clerkenwell, derived from the Poor Rate records of 1803-1804 and written at the time. The manuscript is in brown ink on two sides of a single folded sheet of foolscap paper, scuffed to the edges and partly separating along the fold. The paper has a Britannia papermark. The listing is minutely detailed and lists the number of houses for every street in the parishes of St James, St John and Pentonville arriving at a grand total of 3612. A most interesting document.
