pp 72 Doves bindery expertise applied to a French periodical with excellent provenance recorded on the first blank: 'This is bound at the Doves Bindery. Hammersmith, bought from A. Cooper. Bookseller of Hammersmith, who had it direct from Cobden Sanderson. J.H. March 7. 1911.' Quite beautifully bound in crushed olive morocco with a flat spine, seven raised bands and gilt lettering reads 'Casse Cou', gilt ruled turn-ins with some offsetting to the endpapers opposite. There is browning to the spine and around the edge of the boards; upper hinge starting to crack. Adams wrote in the Morgan Library Catalogue of Doves Press bindings that 'His bookbinding and his printing, largely concentrated in the quarter century from 1885 to 1910, have a timeless beauty of style and come close almost to perfection in execution as can be expected from the hand of man.'
