Attractive jacketed first edition of Evelyn Waugh's most celebrated novel - in the Book Society issue.
The book is bound in publisher’s red cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, nice bright boards, just a hint of spine lean. Internally the book is complete and fresh, no ownership inscriptions, [7] pp 8-304. The jacket in very good condition, a little rubbing at the ends of the spine, and the head and tail of the folds between jacket panels and flaps. But a relatively bright and unmarked example of this fragile production.
Waugh’s novel has inspired TV and film adaptations and continues to recruit new generations of readers who are captivated by its aura of faded glamour and lost innocence.
