Scrumptious Rivière-bound, William Blake-illustrated volume with 5 plates designed and engraved by the master. Crushed blue morocco with extensive gilt decoration, all edges gilt, inner dentelles and marbled endpapers. Additional inserted endpapers precede Blake's frontispiece 'The Dog', each of the five images with a tissue guard. A very fine copy, some slight offsetting from Blake's engravings but excellent in every way. In addition to the frontispiece Blake contributed engravings of 'The Eagle', 'The Lion', 'The Hermit's Dog' and 'The Horse' though their placement in the text does not match Bentley's locations given in his bibliography: Bentley 374.
